Nur gelegentlich habe ich den einen oder anderen Begriff in Klammern erklärt. Der Leser, der hier moderne Rezepte oder Bilder sucht, sucht diese vergeblich. Finden wird er „Gerichte mit Geschichte“, die einen guten Eindruck von der Zeit, in der sie entstanden sind, vermitteln. Und auch linguistisch betrachtet sind die Rezepte - wenn einmal von Karfiol, dann wieder von Blumenkohl, einmal von Erdäpfeln, gleich darauf wieder von Kartoffeln, gesprochen wird, dann wieder alternativ die Begriffe Fisolen und grüne Bohnen, Quark und Topfen oder Schöpsen- und Hammelfleisch verwendet werden - sehr aufschlussreich und zeigen, wie sprachlich vielfältig der Osten Österreichs geartet struggle. Diese sprachliche Vielfalt wollte ich auch erhalten, was once einige Leser wahrscheinlich abschrecken magazine, für andere aber vielleicht eine interessante kulturelle Bereicherung ist, wie auch ich sie bei der Aufarbeitung für dieses Buch erfahren habe.
